About STURM
STURM is an open, collaborative wiki against censorship, for digital sovereignty, and against control by corporations and states. Community-run; initiated by a person who goes by "Mastermind".
The full mission statement — what we want, what we are not, why now — lives on its own page: Mission. There also our technology philosophy: static, tracker-free, public repository.
Why this wiki exists
Censorship today rarely works with censors. It works with terms of service, algorithmic feeds, platform bans, SLAPP suits, double-titled laws, and the fear that spreads when examples leak through. This wiki documents these examples — with sources. Not to shock, but to be a tool: for debates, research, and your own decisions about whom to trust.
Principles
- Evidence over claims. Every factual statement carries a source. No source, no sentence.
- Debunk all lies — including our own. Every dossier has a “Debunking” section correcting oversimplifications, including those convenient to our own position.
- No electioneering. Cases from all political directions; documented censorship from left, right, state, private.
- Anonymous initiation. The initiator goes by “Mastermind” — no name, no link, no organisation. The wiki should be judged on its arguments and evidence, not on its founder.
Transparency
- Code and content: github.com/C-0711/sturm — every change visible in Git history.
- Licence: content CC BY-SA 4.0 (see Licence).
- Funding: none. No sponsor, no donations, no ads. The domain and hosting costs are carried privately.
- Editorial: no newsroom — maintainers and contributors via pull requests; disputes in Discussions.
How it’s built
- Tech: Jekyll on GitHub Pages — static, no trackers, no cookies, no external fonts/CDNs.
- Languages: German and English are working languages; French, Spanish, Portuguese are on the way (help translate).
- Article standard: summary → evidence → timeline → debunking → open questions → sources. Template in CONTRIBUTING.md.
